Policy Statement

Jans Composites Ltd Policy is to promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation. The company is fully committed towards the prevention of injuries and ill health to employees, temporary staff, and others not in our employment who may be affected by the company's undertakings.

Our Goal

Jans Composites Ltd acknowledge their moral and legal responsibility to ensure so far as is reasonably practicable:

  • The requirements of the Health and Safety at Work (NI) Order 1978, The Management of Health and Safety Regulations (NI) 2000, and all other relevant statutory provisions are fully complied with.

  • That sufficient resources are provided as necessary to ensure high standards of health and safety compliance are achieved.

  • To actively promote employee consultation, participation and cooperation in health and safety matters.

  • To develop employee health and safety competency through effective information, instruction, and training at all levels within the company.

  • To eliminate and reduce risks associated with our business activities by implementing appropriate control measures and safe systems of work.

  • That the working environment of all employees shall be safe and without risks to health and that adequate provisions are made for their welfare at work.

  • To continually monitor, review and improve our health and safety management system.


I regard health and safety as an integral part of the management function and all employees, irrespective of position within the company, are expected to play a full role in securing the objective of this Policy.


No manager or team leader under my control shall authorise any activity where uncontrolled hazards are identified.


The operation of this Policy and the associated procedures will be monitored regularly and reviewed annually or in the event of legislative or organisational changes to ensure that they remain current and applicable to the company's activities. The Policy will be made available to employees and all interested parties.

Environmental Policy

Policy Statement

Jans Composites Ltd recognise our moral and legal responsibilities to ensure that we operate our business in an environmentally responsible manner with due regard to environmental impact.

Our Goal

The company is committed to the protection of the environment, including the prevention of pollution. It is our intent to effectively manage and improve our environmental performance and minimise the impacts of our business activities on the environment.

To achieve our objectives, the company will take all reasonable steps to:

  • Comply fully with all relevant environmental legislation and other requirements which relate to the company's activities.

  • Provide our employees and sub-contractors with adequate information, training and awareness on environmental compliance and best practice.

  • Identify and seek to reduce significant environmental impacts in order to manage our activities in an environmentally responsible manner.

  • Ensure that adequate financial and physical resources are provided to control our environmental impacts and to support identified opportunities.

  • Manage and reduce waste efficiently and ensure responsible disposal of any waste generated.

  • Manage our business operations and activities to prevent so far as possible any form of pollution and to minimise the consumption of natural resources.

  • Ensure our emergency preparedness procedure is tested periodically and that there is appropriate and timely response to any environmental incidents and non-conformances.

  • Maintain proactive monitoring of our Environmental Management System to enhance our environmental performance.

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy Statement


The Modern Slavery Act became an act of parliament on 26th March 2015. 


Jans Composites Ltd wholly supports the Act and is committed to ensuring that our business is conducted in a professional and ethical manner in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains. 


Jans Composites Ltd will not tolerate the use of forced or child labour in any of its operations and will not tolerate the physical punishment, abuse or involuntary servitude of any worker.


Our attitude to modern slavery and human trafficking is zero tolerance and we expect all those in our supply chain to demonstrate their commitment and comply with our values. 


 Any supplier found to be demonstrate unacceptable practices will be investigated and provided with guidance regarding immediate required improvements. 

5.1 If no improvement is implemented or they indicate an unwillingness to cease unacceptable practices they will be reported to the appropriate authorities and ultimately trading with this supplier would cease. 


We are committed to providing applicable staff with a salary, which at least meets the National Living Wage and offering the required statutory leave entitlement. Furthermore, we ensure all our staff have provided their National Insurance Number, or Working Visa if they are not British nationals, prior to their employment and perform the necessary checks to determine their eligibility to work in the UK. By checking our employees’ NI numbers or Working Visa’s we know they are legally eligible to work in the UK, and that their salary will be monitored by HMRC.


Jans Composites Ltd is satisfied form its own due diligence that there is no evidence of any act of modern day slavery or human trafficking within its organisation. 



Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, up to and including summary dismissal for gross misconduct. The Company may terminate its commercial relationship with suppliers, contractors and other business partners if they are found to have been involved in modern slavery. 




9.1 Jans Composites Ltd compliance manager is responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of this policy and will review the implementation of it on a regular basis. They will assess its suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness. 


9.2 Internal control systems and procedures designed to prevent bribery and corruption are subject to regular audits to ensure that they are effective in practice. 


9.3 Any need for improvements will be applied as soon as possible. Employees are encouraged to offer their feedback on this policy if they have any suggestions for how it may be improved. Feedback of this nature should be addressed to the compliance manager. 


9.4 This policy does not form part of an employee’s contract of employment and Jans Composites Ltd may amend it at any time so to improve its effectiveness at combatting bribery and corruption.
